Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account?
No. Lexora works straight out of the box. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to log in to.
Where are my words stored?
On your iPhone, and only there. They are included in your iPhone backup, so restoring a backup to a new phone brings your words with it.
Does the app work offline?
Studying flashcards works offline. Automatic translation, pronunciation lookup and voice input need an internet connection — you can still add a word offline by typing the translation yourself.
Why does Lexora ask for the microphone?
Only so you can add a word by saying it out loud instead of typing. The microphone is active only while you hold the button, and the recording is never saved. You can decline the permission and use the app normally.
A translation looks wrong. Can I fix it?
Yes. Automatic translations are a starting point — open the word and edit the translation to whatever you prefer. Your version is what you will be tested on.
How do I delete a word or a collection?
Swipe left on any word or collection in the list to delete it. Deleting a collection does not delete the words inside it.
How do I delete everything?
Delete the app from your iPhone. All Lexora data is removed with it.
Which languages are supported?
Translation works between a wide range of languages. Pronunciation and example sentences are currently available for English words only.
Privacy
